It’s taken three grueling days of awful, mind bending work and very little sleep but I’ve finally managed to get Steam Workshop Support fully implemented into RPG Tycoon!
A huge thankyou to Andrew Roper for all of his help as I struggled to get my head around this. It’s one of the final hurdles that I’ve been wanting to get past, and I initially never thought was possible for this project. It really does mean that as I start to focus on the final stages of development the game will continue to evolve and grow in a self-sustaining manner with new content available to players much further than I alone could hope to achieve with it long after release early next year.
I was planning on pushing Alpha 11 out this week, however my desire to get modding fully implemented took priority and I need some more time to get all of the other features / improvements in working order too. So it’ll be a little later than usual, but also a much bigger release.
You can expect some workshop tutorials and a release video sometime in the near future too.
PS. RPG Tycoon is currently available for 25% off in the Steam Exploration Sale. This is the cheapest you’ll get the game before launch. So if you’re waiting for it, with workshop around the corner now might be the right time!
